Kshirshatpala Ghrita is a ghee based Ayurvedic formulation described in Charak Samhita. It contains Pippali, Pippalimoola, Chavya, Chitraka, Shunti & Yavakshara. Milk us used as media & Cow Ghee as a base in its preparation. It is unique combination of medicines intended to use in Jwara i.e. Vata-Kaphaja Jwara. It is also advised to use in Rajaykshma & Gulma Chikitsa. Since it contains Panchakola, it is best medicine for the promotion of Agni. The addition of Yavakshara in the formulation has made it more efficacious. Due to Yavakshara it can pervade through the micro channels of the body & reach, even up to the difficult target.

It is best micro channel cleanser i.e. Srotoshodhaka. So it can be used in that type of diabetes mellitus where hyperglycemia is seen despite the normal levels of insulin. It can be used in all diseases, where promotion of Agni is key factor in treatment protocol, such as Gulma, Rajaykshma, Grahani, Pandu etc.

Despite a good appetite, some subjects do not put on weight due to deranged absorption of Ahararasa, Kshirshatapala Ghruta is significantly helpful in such patients. Post fever anorexia & weakness are a common complaints nowadays especially when a person has just recovered from a viral infection. Kshirshatapala Ghruta works very good in such condition. It is also useful in Shwasa (asthma), Kasa (coughing), shotha (edema) & severe belching.

Kshirshatpala Ghruta should always be given in Samaan Kala of a meal to achieve best results.

Dose: 5 to 10 gm warm ghee in the midst of a meal or as directed by physician.
